This would be entirely irrelevant if I lived someplace that didn't use base 10 numbering, and I'm not entirely sure it's not irrelevant anyway.
Cause for contemplation, anyway. I've got a hundred pages, who knows if they're good or bad or worth anything, but that's what they are. It'd be absurd to take a journey and not figure out where you were along the way, how far you'd gone and--more importantly, to tired feet and sleepy traveler--how far you still have to go.
Well, my feet aren't tired, either my real feet or my writerly feet, so you can chalk that up to dramatic effect, but it does seem like it's important to find some way to mark out progress.
Right now, a hundred feels like something worthwhile.
